Parval(Pointed Gourd) Aloo Poriyal

Parwal or Parval is a summer vegetable. It is a good source of carbohydrates, vitamin A, and vitamin C. It also contains major nutrients which are needed in small quantities, beneficial for human physiology.                                                    

              
                             

Ingredients:
                                                                             
Parwal: 5 – 6
Potato: 1 medium
Red chilli powder -1/4 tbsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tbsp
Cumin Seeds(Jeera) -  ½ tbsp

Salt - as needed





Method:


Wash and trim the edges of potato & parval and then peel off the skin every 1/2" inch apart .


Cut the vegetables into lengthwise. 


Heat the oil in a pan,add jeera. When the seeds begin to splutter, add the turmeric powder,chilled powder, sliced parwal, potatoes and salt & mix it well


Cover the pan and cook on low heat till the vegetables are soft.


Serve it with dal rice.
