Meal Maker/Soya Chunks Gravy

                           
                                             


Ingredients:

Meal maker- 1/2 cup
Onion- 1(finely chopped)                                
Tomato-1 (finely chopped)
Ginger-Garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Coriander powder-1/2 tbsp
Chilli powder-1 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
Lemon juice -2  tbsp
Cardamom(elakkai)-2

Cinnamon(Pattai) -2
Clove(kirambu)-2
Curry leaves- little
Coriander leaves - little
Salt - as required
     
To grind:
Coconut grated- 1/2 cup
Fennel seeds(Sombu)-1 tbsp
Jeera-1 tbsp
Cashews-10

                                       


Method:


Soak the meal maker balls in hot water for 10 minutes. Drain the water. Wash in cold water. 

Squeeze out the extra water and cut into 2 or 4 pieces.

Heat oil in a pan, add cinnamon,cardamom,cloves and fry it. After splutter, add onion, curry leaves and stir it until they transparent.

Add ginger-garlic paste and fry it until the raw smell goes off.

Add tomato pieces and fry till they blend well.

At low flame, add the coriander, chili and turmeric powder and saute for a minute.

Then, add the meal maker pieces and mix well & add 3 cups of water and the salt required. 

Close with lid and cook for 6 to 7 minutes in medium flame. 

Meantime grind the grated coconut, fennel seeds,jeera,cashew & add some water and make it  as a smooth paste. 

After the meal maker has cooked, add the ground paste & cook it until get a desired consistency.

Switch off the stove & add lemon juice and coriander leaves.

Serve it with chapati or hot rice. It taste like chicken gravy.
