Cabbage Egg Poriyal



Small sized Cabbage - 1 (Finely chopped)      
Urad dal -
1/2 tsp  
Mustard seeds - 
2 tsp  
Onion  - 1 (chopped)
Red chilli powder -1/4 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1/4 tbsp( for taste)Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 2tbsp
Curry leaves - 5 to 6finely chopped
Egg - 2
Salt  - to taste


Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds and urad dal and let it splutter.

Add curry leaves & onion.Fry till they turn into golden brown.

Add chopped cabbage and salt and mix well. Now, add 
turmeric powder,red chilli powder,coriander powder & add 1/4 cup of water and close with lid & cook for 5 to 7mins. 

Once cabbage is cooked, break the egg into poriyal and stir it well on high flame for 1 to 2mins.

Serve it with sambar or rasam.


  If you are vegetarian,prepare this poriyal with finely grated coconut.
